Volleyball Recap: Sacred Heart Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart was the 3-1 winner over Rock Port when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Irish fell 3-1 to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 19-25, 25-20.

Sacred Heart's offense was headlined by Hallie Jones and Ryann Westengaard, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Daycee Witt and her 15 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emersyn Courtney, racking up four apiece.

Sacred Heart's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rock Port, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Sacred Heart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Bishop LeBlond on the 4th. As for Rock Port, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Mound City on the 4th.
