Basketball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. Canyon Hills Rattlers

The Coronado Islanders will square off against the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Friday, Coronado ended up a good deal behind Mira Mesa and lost 62-48. While losing is never fun, the Islanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 628th, while the Marauders are ranked 110th).

Meanwhile, Canyon Hills played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-34 loss at the hands of Madison. The Rattlers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Canyon Hills, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-11.

Coronado beat Canyon Hills 62-49 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Will Coronado repeat their success, or does Canyon Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
