Yorktown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They managed a 32-26 win over the New Castle Trojans on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Yorktown was led to victory by Lilly Sylvester and Olivia Conklin. Sylvester dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds, while Conklin posted 14 points. What's more, Conklin also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2024.

New Castle lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carlee Lanzer, who went 6 for 12 en route to 13 points. That was a full 50% of New Castle's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Owens, who earned five points and ten boards.

Yorktown's record is now 16-6. As for New Castle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Yorktown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-42 win against Connersville on the 7th. New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
