Basketball Recap: University Takes a Loss

After soaring to 63 points the game before, University was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 63-30 loss at the hands of the Atlantic Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Sharks are ranked 115th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Atlantic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmanuel Martin, who went 5 for 7 en route to 10 points and five boards. What's more, Martin also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Cris De La Pena was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

The defeat snapped University's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for Atlantic, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

University has already played their next matchup, an 89-64 loss against Trinity Christian Academy on the 17th. As for Atlantic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-53 defeat against Winter Springs on the 17th.
