Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Calumet Christian

Victory Christian Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They blew past the Calumet Christian Patriots, posting a 71-38 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Whitaker, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The contest was Whitaker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Jordan, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points and six assists.

Victory Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Calumet Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Victory Christian Academy will host South Bend Adams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Bend Adams is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season. As for Calumet Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
