Basketball Game Preview: Karnes City Badgers vs. Prairie Lea Indians

The Karnes City Badgers and the Prairie Lea Indians will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Karnes City will be strutting in after a victory while Prairie Lea will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Karnes City blew past Robstown, posting a 59-26 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Badgers.

Karnes City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Mayes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Mayes a new career-high. Savion Nixon-Thompson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards.

Meanwhile, Prairie Lea was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Paul.

Prairie Lea's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Karnes City, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
