Football Game Preview: Stanton Blue Devils vs. Wolfson Wolfpack

The Stanton Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wolfson took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Stanton, who comes in off a win.

Stanton will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Englewood, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Rams by a score of 28-20 on Friday. 28 seems to be a good number for the Blue Devils as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

It was another big night for David Honroe, who rushed for 89 yards and one score on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 61 yards.

Honroe was just one part of a punishing run game: Stanton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 173 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Wolfson lost to Andrew Jackson on the road by a 44-30 margin on Friday. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Stanton pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Wolfson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Stanton beat Wolfson 16-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
