Basketball Game Preview: Westside Seminoles vs. Villa Rica Wildcats

The Westside Seminoles and the Villa Rica Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Westside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Last Saturday, Westside came up short against McDonough and fell 73-65. While losing is never fun, the Seminoles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Warhawks are ranked 41st).

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Joshua Harden and Zion Greene. Greene had a great game and went 9 for 15 on his way to 24 points and five steals. Meanwhile, Harden was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Villa Rica came up short against Meadowcreek on Friday, falling 61-35. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Villa Rica has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
