Football Recap: Eustis Comes Up Short

Eustis fell victim to Lake Minneola and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Lake Minneola Hawks, falling 40-0. The Panthers lost against the Hawks in their previous head to head back in March of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 25-6 score last time.

Kumari Wright was nothing short of spectacular for Lake Minneola: she rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Austyn Krepcho got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Eustis and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Lake Minneola, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eustis will host East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Minneola, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Minneola has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 105 points over their last three games.
