Volleyball Recap: Mars Hill Academy's Undefeated Season over After 20 Games

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mars Hill Academy and Cincinnati Christian, and Cincinnati Christian kept the tradition alive. Mars Hill Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cincinnati Christian on Friday. The loss was Mars Hill Academy's first of the season.

Mars Hill Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 25-6, 25-19.

Leading Cincinnati Christian to victory were Anna-Kate Young and Lydia Vogelgesang. Young had 15 digs and four aces, while Vogelgesang had nine digs and three aces. Young has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mars Hill Academy fell to 19-1. As for Cincinnati Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mars Hill Academy will host Hillsboro Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cincinnati Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
