Basketball Recap: D'evelyn Falls Despite Big Games from Kafui B. Fiadonu and Denzel Bogyah

D'Evelyn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Conifer Lobos. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lobos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Denzel Bogyah and Kafui B. Fiadonu certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Bogyah went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and five boards, while B. Fiadonu posted seven points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Bogyah has posted since back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Isaac Pratt, who earned 16 points and seven boards for Conifer. Bennett Poniatowski was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

D'Evelyn's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Conifer, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

D'Evelyn has already played their next game, a 75-34 defeat against Dakota Ridge on the 1st. As for Conifer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-44 loss against Golden on the 31st.
