Clackamas has no trouble against Newberg

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Clackamas Cavaliers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Newberg with points to spare, taking the game 35-16. Winning may never get old, but Clackamas sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Clackamas can attribute much of their success to Jaxson Decker, who rushed for 204 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Luke Baker also helped with two touchdowns in total.

When it comes to explaining why Newberg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nolan Dikeman. Despite the final result, he picked up 32 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Clackamas has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Newberg, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-4.

Clackamas will head out on the road to face off against South Medford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (South Medford is ranked 22nd, while Clackamas is ranked 32nd). Newberg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
