Softball Recap: Cascade Extends Winning Streak to 13

Cascade strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Estacada Rangers a 15-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaelyn Lowry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Lowry was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pearl Pruett was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lexie Gidcumb was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.

Cascade's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Estacada, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Cascade will challenge Stayton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Estacada, they will face off against Silverton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Foxes have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
