Football Recap: Pitman Comes Up Short

Pitman lost against Turlock back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pride took a hard 28-14 fall against the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 164th).

Despite the loss, Pitman still got an impressive performance from Mason Helwick, who rushed for 118 yards and two scores. Helwick is becoming a predictor of the Pride's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Pitman has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Turlock, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Pitman has already played their next contest, a 31-24 victory against Enochs on the 24th. As for Turlock, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 29-26 defeat against Downey on the 24th.
