Softball Game Preview: South Bronx Prep Cougars vs. Bronx United Pythons

The South Bronx Prep Cougars will face off against the Bronx United Pythons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Bronx Prep has four straight wins, Bronx United has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

South Bronx Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Bronx, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Cougars blew past the Phoenix 19-4 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bronx United lost 25-1 to Law Government & Justice on Tuesday.

South Bronx Prep pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bronx United, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went South Bronx Prep's way against Bronx United in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as South Bronx Prep made off with a 27-1 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Pythons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
