League recap: Johnson powers Mountlake Terrace with hot hitting week

Austin Johnson was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .538 average with four RBIs. Mountlake Terrace compiled a record of 1-0 in that time.

After a week in which it went 1-1, Oak Harbor jumped from 145 to 146 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league.

Shorewood's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 19 hits and eight walks, both of which led the league. The Thunderbirds have given up a mere 114 hits on the year in addition to compiling 97 strikeouts. Sam Boone is the leader in that category with 28 Ks on the season.

The Hawks, the season leader in runs scored at 152, added to their total with a league-high 32 runs this week. Johnson is the team leader in runs scored with 21, while Henry Haveman has driven in a team-best 18 runs with his bat.

Johnson led the league with seven hits this week for the Hawks. His 21 hits for the year are third in the league, and he boasts a .362 batting average.
