Basketball Recap: El Rancho Comes Up Short

El Rancho had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 9-17 to make it seven. They were beaten by the California Condors 75-39. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Condors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-39 on January 9th.

Despite the defeat, El Rancho had strong showings from William Soria, who posted 12 points and five boards, and Andres Centeno, who put up four points in addition to 15 rebounds and three blocks. Soria is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 43% in the last three games he's played.

As for California, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

California's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jair Linares, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 14 points. Andy Rubio was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 14 points.
