Eastern put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-8 win over the East Tartans. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three contests by 35 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Manley Jr., who threw for 118 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Justin Fowler was in the mix too, providing the Eagles with two scores.

Another reason for the win was Eastern's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Fowler, Bryden Tomlison, and Cade Leist, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for East, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Eastern and East will both be playing Symmes Valley the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Tartans will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
