Baseball Recap: Grandview Beats Center for Their Fourth Straight Win

Grandview entered their tilt with Center on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Yellowjackets. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.

Jackson Ransom spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Ransom, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-4. Grandview is 3-1 when Ransom posts two or more runs, but 4-6-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethan Terry, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Grandview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Grandview pushed their record up to 7-7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Center, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grandview will host Sumner Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
