Basketball Recap: Newark Tech Comes Up Short

Newark Tech was the 56-55 winner over Payne Tech when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Terries fell 78-66 to the Lions on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), the Terries still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Newark Tech and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Payne Tech, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Newark Tech will head out to face off against Arts at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Payne Tech, they have already played their next game, a 76-55 loss against Seton Hall Prep on the 10th.
