Wilson Area and Notre Dame-Green Pond are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Warriors will welcome the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilson Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Wilson Area took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Notre Dame as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.
Liam Coyle made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Wilson Area's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-10 when he doesn't).
