Softball Recap: Blackhawk Wins Going Away Against Moon Area

Blackhawk barely beat Moon Area the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Blackhawk put the hurt on Moon Area with a sharp 10-2 win on Thursday. That looming 10-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Peyton Kimberlin looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Blackhawk got a massive performance out of Addy Ramer, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Ramer also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mia Yenges, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Blackhawk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Blackhawk now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Moon Area, they dropped their record down to 3-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Blackhawk Cougars face off against Shenango Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Moon Area, they will face off against Hopewell at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
