Baseball Recap: Tri-Township Comes Up Short

Tri-Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wheeler Bearcats.

Hector Osornio was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Tri-Township's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Wheeler, their record is now 10-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Tri-Township will face off against Bowman Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.33 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wheeler, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lowell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
