Division III recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Division III this week, Woodstock beat Winooski 48-24. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Bellows Free Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to seventh in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bullets triumphed over North Country Union 40-8.
U-32's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Greene has thrown for 143 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Matt Smith has 2 catches for 60 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Mill River and Mt. Abraham/Vergennes. The Minutemen enters the contest ranked seventh in the state, while the Eagles ranks 21st.
U-32's Colby Brochu needs only 18 yards against Springfield next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 77 carries Brochu has accumulated 982 yard this year.
Windsor was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating the Cosmos. The Yellowjackets came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
