Soccer Game Preview: Sipsey Valley vs. Northside

The Sipsey Valley Bears are taking a road trip to face off against the Northside Rams at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sipsey Valley's offense. They came up short against Shelby County last Thursday, falling 11-0. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Northside kept a clean sheet against Holy Spirit Catholic on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Saints. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Lynn Otero and Andy Otero scored all four of Northside's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Northside pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those three games. As for Sipsey Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sipsey Valley might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Northside when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can Sipsey Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
