Softball Recap: Troy Comes Up Short

Troy extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They came up short against the Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors, falling 10-4. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Southfield Arts & Tech, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Southfield Arts & Tech's part, Trinity Hester, 2028 was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Savannah Phillips, 2025, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While Troy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
