Soccer Game Preview: The Nueva School vs. Design Tech

The Nueva School and Design Tech are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long. The Nueva School Mavericks will be playing at home against the Design Tech Dragons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Nueva School is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Friday, they were much more limited against East Palo Alto Academy on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for the Mavericks seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Design Tech). They blew past Summit Shasta 9-1 on Wednesday. It was an even better day for Soham Kakar as he scored three goals for his team.

Design Tech has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. As for The Nueva School, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7-1.

The Nueva School skirted past Design Tech 2-1 when the teams last played back in January. Will The Nueva School repeat their success, or does Design Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
