Basketball Game Preview: Burke Bulldogs vs. North Charleston Cougars

Burke is 1-9 against North Charleston since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Burke Bulldogs will square off against the North Charleston Cougars at 5:00 p.m. One thing working in Burke's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Burke is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since February 2nd on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wando, sneaking past 73-71.

Burke's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juel Mack, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 boards. The game was Mack's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Melachi Singleton, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, North Charleston didn't have too much trouble with Stall on Friday as they won 65-47.

North Charleston's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Burke, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Burke might still be hurting after the 74-48 defeat they got from North Charleston in their previous meeting back in January. Can Burke avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
