Montrose is 8-2 against Forest City since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Meteors will head out to square off against the Foresters at 4:00 p.m. Montrose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Montrose will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Carbondale Area on Tuesday. The Meteors blew past the Chargers 11-2. The victory continues a trend for the Meteors in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Christopher McGee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Montrose is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise. McGee was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Montrose got a massive performance out of Lincoln Brander, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kasey Carey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Montrose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbondale Area only posted a batting average of .222.
Elk Lake hit Forest City with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Foresters came up short against the Warriors, falling 12-0. The Foresters haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Forest City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Conolgue, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Conolgue has hit this season.
Forest City's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Montrose, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Montrose has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Forest City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Montrose's way against Forest City in their previous matchup on April 3rd, as Montrose made off with a 10-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Meteors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
