Soccer Recap: Banks County Comes Up Short

Banks County lost against Cedar Shoals back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Banks County came up short against Cedar Shoals, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that Banks County have lost by exactly ten goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Banks County and nudges their season record down to 1-12. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Athens Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.3% over those games). As for Cedar Shoals, they moved to 5-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Banks County and Cedar Shoals could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Banks County will take on Elbert County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 221 places (413 vs. 192). Meanwhile, Cedar Shoals (ranked 277th) will meet Athens Academy (ranked 83rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
