Cherokee Bluff had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Lumpkin County Indians by a score of 31-21. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Leading Cherokee Bluff to victory were Malcolm Millsap and Tony Rushin. Millsap gained 178 total yards and two touchdowns, while Rushin rushed for 56 yards and two TDs.
