Baseball Recap: First Christian Takes a Loss

First Christian has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Countryside Christian Minutemen, falling 17-2. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

First Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Preston, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Tifton Green also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

First Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Countryside Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Christian will head out to face off against Brunswick Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Countryside Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Minutemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
