Basketball Game Preview: Holmes Bulldogs vs. Bracken County Polar Bears

The Holmes Bulldogs will square off against the Bracken County Polar Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bracken County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Holmes, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Holmes had just enough and edged Harrison County out 51-48.

Meanwhile, Bracken County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Highlands an easy 75-50 win. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Bluebirds are ranked 42nd).

Holmes' victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Bracken County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Holmes was dealt a bruising 80-53 defeat at the hands of Bracken County in their previous meeting back in February. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Holmes was down 44-24.
