Football Recap: Rushville Comes Up Short

Rushville was the 58-0 winner over Greensburg when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions came up short against the Pirates on Friday, falling 36-16.

Despite the defeat, Rushville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kai Pernell punched in two rushing scores, and also picked up 90 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Owen Zachery, who rushed for 85 yards.

Rushville's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Greensburg, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rushville will head out to challenge South Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greensburg, they will venture away from home to face off against Purdue Poly Englewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
