Soccer Game Preview: Dorman vs. Eastside

The Dorman Cavaliers will challenge the Eastside Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Dorman will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Wade Hampton, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Dorman who was credited with the victory on Monday. Dorman got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Wade Hampton's two. Dorman's winning goal came courtesy of Dakota Brown.

Eastside's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on James F. Byrnes with a sharp 5-0 win. Eastside might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by five goals or more this season.

Eastside pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four contests. As for Dorman, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Dorman came up short against Eastside when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Dorman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
