Lutheran-Northeast came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Plainview, but Riley Miller wouldn't allow it. The Plainview Pirates narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles 54-51 thanks in part to Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Lutheran-Northeast lost on Thursday, don't look at Liv Chapman. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Lewis, who put up eight points and three steals.

Plainview's victory bumped their record up to 2-18. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

Coming up, Plainview will challenge O'Neill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in O'Neill's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Plainview has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they will welcome Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th.
