Volleyball Recap: New Castle Takes a Loss

After flying high against Frankton on Monday, New Castle came back down to earth. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Delta Eagles on Tuesday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

New Castle started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why New Castle lost, don't look at Emily Luce. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and two aces. Luce has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Delta can attribute much of their success to Sienna Richards, who had 11 digs and two aces.

New Castle has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Delta, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

New Castle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Jay County on the 9th. As for Delta, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against South Adams on the 9th.
