Baseball Game Preview: Northside Christian Lions vs. Delaware Christian Eagles

Northside Christian hasn't had much luck against Delaware Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Northside Christian is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Shekinah Christian, falling 10-0.

Northside Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Brumfield, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Brumfield has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

Meanwhile, Delaware Christian lost 22-2 to Granville Christian Academy two weeks ago. The Eagles have struggled against Granville Christian Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Delaware Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Northside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Northside Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Delaware Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Northside Christian suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Delaware Christian in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
