Recap: Desoto County Academy Ambassadors vs. Leake Academy Rebels
The Desoto County Academy Ambassadors managed to keep up with the Leake Academy Rebels until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Desoto County Academy took a serious blow against Leake Academy, falling 70-39.
Leake Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Allen, who scored 19 points. Allen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marleigh Myers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Desoto County Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Leake Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.
Desoto County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leake Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Joseph Catholic at 2:30 p.m. on December 20th. St. Joseph Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Leake Academy is ranked tenth).
