Baseball Recap: Olive Branch Comes Up Short

Olive Branch lost to Center Hill back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Conquistadors took a 17-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Conquistadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Landon Rombaugh was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, J.R. Jamison was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Olive Branch: the team is 10-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Darnell Harris, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Olive Branch's record is now 16-10. As for Center Hill, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15-1.

While Olive Branch had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
