Baseball Recap: Terre Haute North Vigo Triumphs

Terre Haute North Vigo lost to West Vigo back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Patriots walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Vikings.

Brady Stepp tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Terre Haute North Vigo's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 5-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Higham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Millington, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Terre Haute North Vigo's record now sits at 11-8. As for West Vigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terre Haute North Vigo will head out to face off against Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Vigo, they will venture away from home to challenge South Putnam at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
