Softball Game Preview: Chadwick Dolphins vs. Polytechnic Panthers

The Chadwick Dolphins will take on the Polytechnic Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Chadwick will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Westridge on Tuesday. The Dolphins were the clear victors by a 20-7 margin over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Dolphins in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Polytechnic and Flintridge Prep had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 9-2 win on Tuesday.

Amelia Shih made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Allison Kennedy was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kate Asperger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

The victory got Chadwick back to even at 5-5. As for Polytechnic, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
