Volleyball Recap: Centennial Beats Mayfield for Their Third Straight Victory

Centennial waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mayfield Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Centennial had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-16.

Megan McDaniel and Isobella Munker certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. McDaniel had 17 assists and three aces, while Munker had 13 assists. McDaniel has been hot, having posted 17 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mayfield, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Centennial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Americas on the 30th. As for Mayfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against El Dorado on the 30th.
