Desert Oasis faced Arbor View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Diamondbacks skirted past the Aggies 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Diamondbacks: when they faced off against the Aggies last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-0 loss.

Desert Oasis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayson Marquez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Desert Oasis is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Arbor View, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Desert Oasis and Arbor View will both be playing Spring Valley the next time they take the field. The Aggies will host the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Diamondbacks will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
