Softball Game Preview: Pitman Pride vs. Turlock Bulldogs

The Pitman Pride will head out on the road to square off against the Turlock Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pitman has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Pitman is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Gregori, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Pride couldn't push the score so high this time.

Pitman saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Fuller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Turlock scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enochs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (12), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Cadee Campbell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Rylee Murphy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Even though they lost, Turlock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.6.

Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Turlock, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Pitman came up short against Turlock in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 12-9. Can Pitman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
