Basketball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Hiawatha lost against Silver Lake back in January of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hiawatha Red Hawks took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Lake Eagles. The Red Hawks were down 53-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

This is the second loss in a row for Hiawatha and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Silver Lake, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

After both having extra time off, Hiawatha and Holton will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Silver Lake, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Marys at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
