Recap: Largo Packers vs. St. Petersburg Catholic Barons
The Largo Packers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of St. Petersburg Catholic by a score of 29-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Largo has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Largo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mikayla Paschal. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. That was a full 46.2% of Largo's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Largo struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
St. Petersburg Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elise Graham out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Graham has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Miller, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Largo bumped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
