Baseball Game Preview: Boulder Creek Jaguars vs. Pinnacle Pioneers

The Boulder Creek Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Pinnacle Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Boulder Creek is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Boulder Creek couldn't beat Apollo on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Jaguars lost 15-7 to the Hawks.

Matt Nicolosi and Chase Gilmore did some serious damage despite the final result: Nicolosi went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Gilmore went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Owen Tsau was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle made easy work of Boulder Creek on Tuesday and carried off a 14-2 win. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Trenton Pater, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Escobar, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pinnacle lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Pinnacle now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Boulder Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Boulder Creek suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Pinnacle in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
