Sonora has no trouble against Buena Park

Recap: Sonora Raiders vs. Buena Park Coyotes

The Sonora Raiders had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They strolled past Buena Park with points to spare, taking the game 71-53. Given Sonora's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Buena Park is ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Buena Park saw an underclassman step up: Omar Flores scored eight points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Jayden Hayden, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.

Sonora is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Buena Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Sonora will be playing in front of their home fans against Fullerton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fullerton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Buena Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Troy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three matchups.
