Softball Recap: Regis Gets the Win

Regis gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Mellen Granite Diggers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.

Jacelin Jensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Jensen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Morning, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Bella Borton was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Regis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Regis' victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Mellen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Regis will host Independence/Gilmanton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mellen has already played their next game (against Elmwood/Plum City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
